Something ends, something begins

Many science fiction stories deal with the theory of time being an endless cycle rather than an arrow with a specified direction. All events are said to be predetermined and repeating themselves over the course of time. The serpent eating its own tail "ouroboros" is such a powerful and fascinating image that symbolizes the cyclicality of time, in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself. 

The initial idea for this piece was inspired by the music and cover artwork of Agalloch's "The serpent and the sphere". I thought that the end of 2015 would be an appropriate timing for such an artwork. Anyway, I feel kinda "meh" about this work because it was hard to find a proper presentation for the concept, but I hope you like it anyway!
